Megatel is the worst company that I have ever worked with. This is the first bad review that I’ve ever left for a company but I truly want to save others the heartbreak of working with them. This company has no integrity, does not respect their customers, only cares about money, and should be ashamed of themselves.
First Texas Homes Inc
My husband and I moved to Texas to buy our first house and start a family. We were then waiting to hear back from corporate so that we could have our design meeting. One month later, our salesman calls me to tell me that due to the “rising cost of lumber” they cannot implement our contract for the agreed upon amount. He says that we can pick up our check or resign the contract for $319,000 (a $20k increase). We were very upset but decided to move forward because we were in love with the house/lot that we had chosen and were trying to start a family. We have recently found out that our salesman was fired for calling the owner of Megatel and letting an upset customer speak to him.
The project ran smoothly and was completed quicker than expected and within our budget. We would certainly work with this company in our future home construction projects. I highly recommend Megatel Homes for its quality workmanship, exceptional attention to detail, and highly professional team. The house was completed within the projected timeframe, and it’s beautiful.

Not only did our house get ripped away from us but we wasted three months waiting on this company to do what they said they would. When looking for a home builder, I checked their recommendations, and they are top company. The project started on time, finished on time and they did better than I expected. They were very communicative, easy to work with, honest and professional. My house is exactly the way I envisioned it and I am beyond excited to be living in my dream home.
